Iñigo Pascual spreads his wings from being a performer to becoming a veejay as the leading music channel in the country, MYX, officially announces the singing sensation as the new member of the MYX Squad at a media conference held Wednesday, February 14.

Inigo joins MYX’s roser of VJs – Robi Domingo, Sharlene San Pedro, Ai dela Cruz, Turs Daza, Sunny Kim, and Donny Pangilinan – in their daily task of hosting various shows and introducing the latest in the music scene.

The 20-year-old singer revealed that it has always been his dream to become a MYX VJ, even when he was still living abroad.

“As a kid I was a fan of MYX already. So when I first became a guest celebrity VJ, I really told my handler, ‘One day I’ll be a MYX VJ!’ and it’s happening. It’s finally here, and I’m so excited to meet the MYX family and to be able to be a VJ for you guts,” gushed the “ASAP” Jambayan artist.

He may be new to the MYX Squad, but he’s definitely not new to the music scene – especially after topping various music charts with his hit single “Dahil Sa’Yo” last year.

Passionate about OPM, the new MYX VJ aims to promote local music more to his generation.

“If we want our music to be loved in other places, we should love it first in our own country. How are we gonna bring it to another country if you don’t even love your own?” said the young performer.

As a newbie to hosting the music channel, Pascual said he has been constantly seeking advice from his idols, especially Robi Domingo. “I really ask advice from Kuya Robi every time I see him sa 'Chillout' kapag nagkakatrabaho kami. I really ask, 'Kuya Robi, ano ba ang dapat gawin? How should I play my cards not just as a VJ but also as an artist?’ Siyempre you wanna ask help from people that had been doing this for some time,” he said.

According to Domingo, “Kung peg niya ako, Inigo is really far from what I do. That’s a good thing kasi he can sing, he can do a lot of things. He can compose songs. I am really happy that MYX got him kasi parang ang tagal na. Umpisa pa lang dapat kinuha na ng MYX kasi he is really what MYX is looking for,” he said.

Domingo said Pascual will certainly go a long way since he is a natural.

“Ang maganda kay Inigo, he’s very open sa lahat ng bagay. Kung ano ang sabihin ko sa kanya, he takes note of everything. Pero malayo ang mararating ni Inigo. Mas malayo pa ang mararating niya kaysa sa akin,” he said.

Pascual also revealed that he’s excited to work with close pal Donny, and the ever-bubbly Sunny as he shares the same love for K-Pop.
