The Tau Gamma Phi fraternity wants a settlement with the Pangilinan family following charges of grave threat and serious physical injury filed by the grandson of Senator Kiko Pangilinan yesterday.

Robert Pangilinan, 18 years old and a third year Hotel Management student of Adamson University, was repeatedly bullied for a year and beaten up on August 7 by members of the said frat.

Bro. Ahllan Dada Apolonio, mediator and current governor general of cavite of Tau Gamma Phi, initiated a meeting on August 12 between the General Secretary of Tau Gamma’s Metro Manila  Regional Council Loy Martin Garganera and the father of the victim, Robbie Pangilinan.

Robbie is also a member of the frat, and was the former Vice Chairman of the first ever TGP Las Piñas Council in the ‘90s under the leadership of the late Chairman Rey Gundan and the late GenSec Ferdie Tobias.

“Tol Dick (Robbie) is our brother, we know each other  very well. When I learned about what happened to his son, I was saddened. I immediately set the meeting with the GenSEC so they can talk,” said Apolonio.

Mabait si Tol Dick kasi dinaan pa niya sa diplomasya at nanaig pa rin ang pagiging brad dahil nakipag-usap siya sa amin,” he added. The younger Pangilinan also joined the meeting.

According to Loy Martin Garganera, despite the settlement, the MMRC will investigate the case and will give proper disciplinary action to all involved. Cases of grave threat and serious physical in jury were filed against Ar-Jay Bryce, Flip Qrnt, Gab Ylagan, Daniel Roman, Alvem Bim, Justine Barrameda and Andrew Joseph Ruiz, Em Lanaria, Kenneth Flores, Jasbert Noscal, Ferds Elemancil, Levi Gianan, Geeboy Dela Cruz, Marco Sarmiento, Louis Andalio, and John Christopher Domingo.

“We want him to continue his studies in and play basketball for Adamson, because members of our families, from the first generation, are all ADU graduates, both from Robert’s side and my side, “ said the victim’s mother, Marissa Pangilinan.

Pero kung buhay niya ang katapat ay siguro ililipat na lang namin siya sa ibang school,” she added.

As of press time, the dean of Adamson has not given any statement nor contacted the Pangilinan family regarding the issue.
