French Front-Runner’s Campaign: We’ve Been Hacked

It may not be fait accompli. Considering “doomed” Donald Trump’s November victory, there’s still a chance for right-wing nationalist candidate Marine Le Pen in Sunday’s French presidential election. Polls show centrist Emmanuel Macron winning by 24 points, but his campaign announced late Friday that it’s been hit by a “massive and coordinated” hacking operation.

Polls show centrist Emmanuel Macron winning by 24 points, but his campaign announced late Friday that it’s been hit by a “massive and coordinated” hacking operation.

The government’s investigating purported “fake news” that Macron had cash hidden offshore, and pundits and experts accuse Russia of meddling á la 2016 U.S. presidential elections. And like American progressives, many leftist French voters are vowing they’ll abstain.
