The Quezon City Pride Council on Saturday had a very successful Coronation Night of the Queen of Quezon City held at the UP Theater featuring 23 lovely candidates.

“The grand coronation night was designed to promote respect, equality, pride and empowerment to the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community) whom we believe are equal partners in community building,” said Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista in his message to the candidates to the unique contest.

“Through this search, the second Queen of Quezon City should be able to exemplify our appreciation of the innate beauty, talent, intelligence and courage of the LGBT community to come out in the open and work as our advocates for its equal treatment,” he added.

Crowned as Queen of Quezon City is Casey Banes Paculan from Pinyahan, QC who received P300,000 cash prize, trophy and sash. She also won six special awards namely Most Photogenic, Simply G Award, Darling of the Press, Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown, and WEMSAMP Choice.

First runner-up at Lady Pride was Rami Hannash of Barangay Sta. Lucia, second runner-up and Lady Respect was Pamz Diaz of Barangay Gulod, and third runner-up and Lady Equality was Ghen Antolin of Barangay Santa Monica.

Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Nicole Cordoves, Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, fashion designer Albert Andrada, Japanese-Brazilian model Hideo Muraoka and Asia’s Next Top Model 3rd season contestant Monika Sta. Maria were among the judges.
All of them won crowns, sash and trophy plus P100,000 cash prize each.
Special guest performers were Marco Gumabao and Miss Tres, the singing trio from Asia’s Got Talent (2015) and Britain’s Got Talent (2018).
