MTRCB conducts media literacy for PWDs

For the first time since its inception in 1985, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) conducted a Media Literacy Seminar and Film Showing especially for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), under the leadership of agency Chairperson Maria Rachel Arenas.

The activity was held to educate and empower audiences, particularly families, about the plight of persons with disabilities and other related concerns, through the use of media and film appreciation.

For the first time since its inception in 1985, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) conducted a Media Literacy Seminar and Film Showing especially for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), under the leadership of agency Chairperson Maria Rachel Arenas.

The activity was held to educate and empower audiences, particularly families, about the plight of persons with disabilities and other related concerns, through the use of media and film appreciation.

Joining Arenas in conducting the seminar were board members Bibeth Orteza, Keats Musngi, Dennis Padilla and Bogie Reyes who also touched on explaining the functions of the agency and the review and classification ratings and processes.

On hand to show support were board members Mars Laguardia, Gloria Sevilla, Pam Macasaet, Billy Andal and lawyers Gaby Concepcion, Ogie Jaro, Paolo Lim and Billy Andal.


The seminar concluded with a special showing of the family-oriented comedy drama “Seven Sundays,” directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina for Star Cinema.
