Puwera sa BUKOD sa posibleng mailulunsad na ang pinakahihintay na ‘bakuna’ laban sa COVID-19 sa taong 2021, matutunghayan din ng sambayanan ang pinakahihintay na ‘world-class’ beach volleyball na isasagawa ng Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF).
“The year 2021 looks very encouraging for everyone. A vaccine against the pandemic is keenly awaited and shift to the "new normal" would soon be in practice. Volleyball would soon be in full swing. A major women's international beach volleyball event is on the drawing board and PVF is embarking on an ambitious beach event to be conducted in the North,” pahayag ni PVF president Edgardo ‘Tito Boy’ Cantada.
Ayon kay Cantada, ang torneo ay bahagi ng programa sa pagbubukas ng isang world-class beach volleyball facility na pinangangasiwaan ng mga tagasuporta ng sports at sa tunay na pamunuan ng volleyball sa Pilipinas.
“The PVF has started to reach out to its numerous international connections with the purpose of bringing several top rated teams from the European Union to be joined by top teams from the Philippines and Asian countries.
Top PVF affiliated and FIVB accredited international officials are officiating in the event. A top PVF personality will act as tournament director,” pahayag ni Cantada.
“Participants will be billeted in the plush beach resort for the duration of the event. The organizers are looking at eight teams in the initial staging of this international event that could become a major annual event in beach volleyball in the country. The event will showcase top-caliber beach volleyball competition never witnessed in local competition,” aniya.
Ang PVF ay nananatiling miyembro ng International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) batay sa desisyon ng General Assembly sa isinagawang FIVB World Congress noong 2018.
