Nilasap ng National University ang kanilang wire-to-wire 95-68 win laban sa University of the Philippines sa ikalawang ikutan sa  UAAP Season 85 Women’s Basketball Tournament, Linggo, sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Kyusi. 
 
 
Ang resulta ay nangangahulugang naselyuhan ng  Lady Bulldogs ang pangwalong sunod na panalo sa season - kanilang 104th consecutive victory - para manguna sa standings.
 
 
Dinomina ng  six-time defending champions ang hostilidad mula umpisa at inarko ang  64-28 bentahe mula sa underhand stab ni  Angel Surada sa 7:53 marka sa third quarter.
 
Sa kabila ng ratsadang panalo, hindi pa kumbinsido si NU coach Aris Dimaunahan sa ilang aspeto ng performance ng kanyang tropa. 
 
 “Obviously, a lot of work has to be done on our team from this day on,” aniya.  “We did not shoot well from the free throw line. We only had 50 percent. We missed 13. That’s a lot of freebies missed for this morning’s game.
 
“We had a lot of turnovers (29) today. I thought it could be a better game for us had we taken care of the ball. Hopefully, we’ll do better next time and improve again.
 
Pinamunuan ni Tin Cayabyab ang NU ngayon sa kanyang  17 points, limang rebounds, tatlong  assists, at tatlong steals sinundan ni Camille Clarin na may 13 points, four rebounds, at four assists. Hatag din si Karl Pingol ng 11 points para sa Lady Bulldogs.
 
Ang malalintang depensa ng NU ang pumuwersa sa UP na lunukin ang 35 turnovers, na binugahan ng 42 points para sa Bulldogs ni Dimaunahan. Naisalok din ng Lady Bulldogs ang 10-of-21 buhat sa  three-point line kumpara sa  2-of-18 ng Lady Maroons. 
 
Laglag ang Fighting Maroons sa 3-5 at nanatiling nasa  fifth place.(Louis Pangilinan/UAAP)
