TNT dethroned reigning titleholder Magnolia with a 98-97 comeback win at the Araneta Coliseum on Monday, November 25.
It was a thrilling victory for the KaTropa,
who trailed by double-digits earlier in the fourth quarter before Jayson Castro led them in a furious rally.
"Nakakahiya nga, pambawi ko lang 'yun," Parks said of his free throws. "Sama ng laro ko eh."
"Effort na lang," added Parks, who scored just 7 points but grabbed 8 rebounds in nearly 39 minutes of playing time. "It's the least I could do."
The No. 6 Hotshots were primed force a do-or-die match and cancel their foes' twice-to-beat bonus after leading 80-62, but fizzled out in the final quarter where they allowed the other side to score 32 points.
McDaniels poured in 25 points, hauled down 17 rebounds and sealed his heroics with a block on the last offensive thrust by Magnolia import Romeo Travis.
And with 1.1 ticks to go, the Hotshots were no longer able to run a decent play, thus, seeing the end of their reign in this tourney they won over the Alaska Milk Aces last year.
