PBA commissioner Willie Marcial gave out a stern warning on both Arvin Tolentino of Barangay Ginebra and Meralco's Raymar Jose about being meted a heavier penalty should there be a repetition of their Game 1 altercation during the PBA Governors Cup finals.

No fines were slapped on both players, who went at each other in the endgame of the best-of-seven series opener which the Bolts won, 104-91.

But Marcial reprimanded the two for their acts unbecoming professionals, and told them a similar incident would result in a double fine on either of the two.

Both Tolentino and Jose were summoned before Game 2 of the finals Friday.
Marcial said the two former Far Eastern University players shook hands and hugged each other when they met him.

"Sabi ko sa kanila alagaan na nila yung career nila kasi nandito na sila sa PBA," said Marcial of the advice he gave to the two erring players.

Tolentino and Jose got into a heated exchange of words in the waning seconds of Game 1 following a foul committed by the Ginebra sophomore to Jose, which the Meralco forward obviously didn't like.

The two continued going at each other on their way to their respective dugouts after the game. (RG) (PBA)
