So, Hellboy is yoked.

You might remember David Harbour, the actor that plays police chief Jim Hopper on Stranger Things. It’s not like that dude was like, in bad shape, but this is well… a different monster entirely. Photos from the next installment of Hellboy, which rumors say will be released in 2019 and Harbor is slated to play the lead character. Needless to say, Hellboy is massive.

Obviously, it’s not uncommon for actors to bulk up or get shredded for a role. Harbour enlisted celebrity trainer Don Saladino of Drive495, who also trained Ryan Reynolds for his role in Deadpool, to get him in comic book hero-level shape. But now in his 40s, Harbour described himself as a novice to the gym, now taking on the task of building a frame worthy enough to pull off a scary red-skinned monster with horns jacked enough to crush anyone.

“I did want to mainly develop power and strength so that when i’m doing these movements and doing this role that you believe it, like you believe that this guy when he hits you that he hits you like a truck,” he said.

Saladino has followed Harbour’s body transformation on his blog and made workouts available on his Fitner app. A teaser shows Harbour hitting everything from bench press variations  to dumbbell rows, chest flys and heavy farmer’s carries to build his upper body for the role. And it’s clear. He looks like a tank.
