Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier 3 odds: Opening line dead even for heavyweight rubber match
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is waiting for Stipe Miocic to heal up from injuries sustained in his Daniel Cormier do-over, which took place at UFC 241 last month in Anaheim. Once that happens, promotion president, Dana White, plans to book a championship rubber match.
Sure, it doesn’t make much sense to a bitter Brazilian like Junior dos Santos, who’s trying to work his way back into his own championship rematch, but that's the way the proverbial cookie crumbles. For the time being, “Cigano” has his own fight to worry about, as he collides with Alexander Volkov this November in Moscow.
Cormier, who won the heavyweight strap by stopping Miocic at UFC 226, confirmed that he was preparing for his retirement fight during an interview on Monday and the sports books later set the opening odds. Not surprisingly, the betting line kicked off at -110 apiece, according to BetOnline.ag, making this titanic tilt a pick ‘em right out of the gate.
No doubt that number is going to fluctuate once the money starts trickling in.
No date or venue has been announced for part three of their trilogy, but with time running out in 2019, it’s most likely going to happen at some point in first quarter 2020, giving the rest of the heavyweight division (including this guy) plenty of time to take another fight.
