Facebook co-founder and avid MMA fan Mark Zuckerberg had the time of his life at a private UFC event in Las Vegas this past weekend.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the UFC used its APEX facility in Las Vegas, which holds about 500 people, to keep putting on MMA events for an exclusive audience.
However, ahead of UFC Vegas 61, UFC boss Dana White revealed his latest show will be held behind closed doors but refused to tell the media why.
“We just figured that you guys have been so busy lately, that we’d give you guys a night off. You guys are here on Tuesdays, you’re here on Saturdays. We needed to give you guys a break. So, you’re welcome,” the UFC president told reporters.
UFC Vegas 61 headliner, Mackenzie Dern, later revealed she had heard Zuckerberg had rented out the whole show but didn’t know why.
“I know Mark Zuckerberg rented out the whole event, so I know he’ll be there. But I don’t know if it’s just, like, literally him and his wife, if he’s gonna have friends or if it’s just like a small party. I don’t know,” she said.
White responded to the rumours by tweeting: “Mark Zuckerberg did NOT rent out the UFC Apex. Taken from talksport.com
