UFC 207, the last event of the 2016, goes down on Friday, December 30th in Las Vegas with two title fights on top. The biggest story surrounding the card is the return of Ronda Rousey, who held the women’s bantamweight title for two and a half years before being knocked out by Holly Holm. Her first bout since that November 2015 loss will be against current champion Amanda Nunes in the headliner of this card.

Unlike other mega combat stars such as UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor and boxing icon Floyd Mayweather — who aren’t afraid to flaunt their millions — Rousey isn’t about that life.

Rousey says Amanda Nunes is forced to predict an early knockout because of her tendency to gas out in the second round.

Last month during UFC 205 fight week, women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes boldly predicted a first-round knockout against the returning Ronda Rousey at UFC 207.

Nunes, who was crowned the new 135 lbs champ after submitting Miesha Tate in July, has finished ten of her thirteen wins in the first round, but three of her four losses came in the later rounds.

After putting on an electrifying ‘Fight of the Year' contender, UFC featherweights Cub Swanson and Doo Ho Choi led a list of six fighters to receive extended medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC 206. The Ontario Athletic Commission released the event's medical suspension list on Wednesday.

Swanson defeated Choi via unanimous decision in a memorable back-and-forth brawl on the main card of UFC 206, which took place Dec. 10 and aired live on pay-per-view. Both men will now be required to sit out for a mandatory 60-day period in order to recover from damage sustained during the bout, per commission orders.

The Nevada Athletic Commission and Nick Diaz have come to an agreement which will allow the fighter to compete again.

Nick Diaz has had a rough couple of years when it comes to cage-related activities. The popular Stockton fighter was busted by the Nevada Athletic Commission for a controversial marijuana-related drug test failure following his January 2015 bout with Anderson Silva, and eventually settled on an 18-month suspension and a $100,000 fine.

Diaz says he’s planning to obtain a boxing license in California and Nevada.

The third instalment of Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor could take place in the boxing ring.

At least, that’s what Diaz hinted at when he revealed his plans to obtain a boxing license in the states of California and Nevada, per ESNews (h/t Elias Cepeda of Champions.co).

McGregor, 28, was issued a California state boxing license last month and believes he could compete with the best boxers in the world if he dropped his MMA training.

According to Dana White, Conor McGregor could be out until August 2017. This led Nate Diaz to announce a similar vacation.

It looks like Conor McGregor could be out a few months longer than expected. The UFC lightweight champion (and recent UFC featherweight titleholder) was expected to be sidelined until May due to the birth of his first child. But according to Dana White during an appearance on Fox Sports Live, McGregor could be out until the fall, based on the timeline from his last fight.

Woodley calls out Nick Diaz for a scrap at UFC 209 in March.

When Tyron Woodley knocked out Robbie Lawler at UFC 201 to become the new welterweight champion, ‘T-Wood’ wasted no time in calling out his ideal opponents.

Woodley, 34, said he wanted a big-money fight against either Nick Diaz or Georges St-Pierre in his first title defense, but the newly-crowned champion was slated to face top contender Stephen Thompson at UFC 205.

A potential female bantamweight title eliminator has been added to the Denver card, in January, as Valentina Shevchenko meets Julianna Pena in the UFC on FOX 23 main event.

A pair of female bantamweight contenders will meet in a UFC on FOX main event in January, as Dana White himself announced, on Twitter, a clash between Julianna Pena and Valentina Shevchenko.
