Tony Weeks certainly had an interesting scorecard turned in for Cody Garbrandt’s eventual unanimous decision win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 207.

Cody Garbrandt is the UFC’s new men’s bantamweight champion, having bested Dominick Cruz by unanimous decision at UFC 207. It was a thrilling Fight of the Night performance by Garbrandt, who became only the 2nd man to defeat Cruz in MMA competition, and the 1st one to do so at 135 lbs. Garbrandt effectively won the fight with his superior striking display in rounds 3-4, including multiple knockdowns of Cruz in the 4th.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey released a statement to ESPN following another devastating knockout loss, this time to Amanda Nunes.

The main event of UFC 207 was about as lopsided as humanly possible, as Amanda Nunes successfully defended her UFC women’s bantamweight title by knocking out Ronda Rousey in just 48 seconds. It marked the 2nd KO loss in as many fights for Rousey, who had dominated the division for years, dating back to her days in Strikeforce. That all came to an end when Holly Holm finished her at UFC 193.

A bout for the new women’s featherweight title will headline UFC 208.

The newest UFC title will be competed for in the main event of UFC 208. The event, which goes down February 11th in Brooklyn, will be headlined by Holly Holm vs. Germaine de Randamie for the UFC women’s featherweight title. UFC president Dana White confirmed the news in an interview with Fox 5 in New York (via MMA Weekly).

The move was widely expected, considering they didn’t have another title bout to add to the card.

It has been confirmed that Rousey will not be present for next Wednesday’s Ultimate Media Day to promote UFC 207.

Ronda Rousey has completely shut out the media ahead of her bantamweight showdown with Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, MMA Junkie confirmed on Friday.

Rousey, the former 135-pound champion, lost the belt to Holly Holm at UFC 193. The Olympic bronze medalist was knocked out in the second round by a vicious head kick and follow-up punches, and has shunned the MMA media ever since.
