“Elbow Zombie” Muangthai PK.Saenchai has found his fire and now, he is ready to make a statement and deliver a career-defining performance.

This Friday, 22 April, the Thai striking dynamo will go toe-to-toe with British slugger Liam “Hitman” Harrison in a bantamweight Muay Thai contest at ONE 156: Eersel vs. Sadikovic in Singapore, and he is determined to maintain his flawless run in ONE Championship.

“This is an important fight for me because it is the first fight on the global stage after my absence, so I want to show my best in my return to the Circle.”

As confident as he is, Muangthai admits that the past couple of years have been tough.

The COVID-19 pandemic, combined with the tight restrictions in Thailand, forced “Elbow Zombie” to hit the pause button on his career for the past 24 months. In fact, many fans thought he had retired for good.

However, the Thai veteran used the time away from competition as an opportunity to recharge and rediscover his form, and now, he feels that he has flourished through the uncertain times.

“Apart from the COVID-19 crisis, I felt so exhausted and drained after many fights I did before. You know, my style is aggressive. I lost a lot of power and energy, and I had no time to recover. So, I thought that it was a good opportunity that I would take a long break to rest and recover.

“Now, the situation in Muay Thai [has gotten] better, so I want to come back, and my boss wants me to return to the ring as well. He told me to prepare myself and train regularly during the break just in case. And now, my body is good, and the situation is favorable. It’s time for me to return. I’m ready to rumble.” (One Championship)
