10 August 2021 – Singapore: ONE Championship™ (ONE) athletes competing at ONE: BATTLEGROUND II, a tape-delayed event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium which airs this Friday night, 13 August, spoke to the media ahead of their respective bouts.
In the main event of ONE: BATTLEGROUND II, former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang takes on Zhang “The Warrior” Lipeng, who makes his promotional debut.
Folayang talked about what keeps him motivated at this stage in his career, the biggest lessons he has learned from recent setbacks, and the similarities he shares with his upcoming opponent. Meanwhile, Zhang addressed the media about what led to his decision to join ONE Championship, his thoughts on the three-time former lightweight titleholder, and who he wants next in the division if he is victorious.
In the co-main event, former ONE Strawweight World Champion and current #5-ranked strawweight contender Alex “Little Rock” Silva faces Miao Li Tao. Silva talked to the media about his recent setbacks and what he has learned from them, the changes he has made in training camp to improve his skills, and his thoughts on fighting his way back to title contention.
Heavyweight sensation Alain “The Panther” Ngalani takes on promotional newcomer Thomas “The Last Viking” Narmo in a mixed martial arts contest. Ngalani spoke about his years of experience competing at the highest level in ONE Championship, whether or not age will play a factor in this next fight, and how he plans to fix issues regarding his energy expenditure.
Rising Indonesian star Eko Roni Saputra locks horns with Liu Peng Shuai. The wrestling standout talked about his impressive four-fight winning streak, wanting to showcase the improvements in his striking game, and if his wrestling will be an advantage against his upcoming opponent.
