The 2023 Professional Fighters League Challenger Series continued action tonight  from Universal Studios, in Orlando, Florida, with a four-fight card featuring fighters from the Heavyweight division. At the conclusion of the evening, the all-star judging panel consisting of Kurt Angle, Frank Mir and Vitor Belfort, helped award the third contract of the 2023 Challenger Series to Abraham Bably.

Bably joins Women’s Featherweight Amanda Leve and Welterweight Thad Jean, as PFL Challenger Series contract winners this year. The event was streamed exclusively on Fubo Sports, the live, free-to-consumer TV network from FuboTV Inc. (NYSE: FUBO), the leading sports-first live TV streaming platform.

Bably, a Manchester native, entered the PFL SmartCage against heavy-hitting American, Hassan Graham. Bably needed 3:56 to TKO Graham in the first round. Bably, who made his PFL debut last season, improved his career record to 3-0 and earned a PFL contract.

The main event of the 2023 PFL Challenger Series third week featured Brazilian, Danilo Marques, a fighter with eight career wins in the first round, and American Ras Hylton. Marques showcased his elite-level grappling skills to submit Hylton with a rear-naked choke at the 2:33 mark of the second round to claim his seventh career submission win. Marques improved to 13-4 in his professional career.

In the co-main event of the night, Vitor Resende, a Brazilian who fights out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, faced American Isaiah Pinson. After three rounds of back-and-forth action, it was Pinson who emerged victorious, via unanimous decision, 30-27, 29-28, 29-28. With the win, Pinson improved to 2-0 in his professional career.

“The 2023 PFL Challenger Series resumed action tonight with eight fighters from the Heavyweight division vying for a PFL contract,” said Ray Sefo, President of Fighter Operations of PFL. “Congratulations Abraham Bably on an impressive performance  and welcome to the PFL.”

Kicking off the Heavyweight card, Louie Sutherland, a heavy-handed Scottish striker, matched up with Alton “Murda” Meeks, an American former D-1 college football player at Iowa State and Northern Illinois University. Sutherland was successful in his return to the PFL SmartCage, finishing Meeks off with a perfectly-placed knee followed by some vicious ground and pound to earn the TKO victory at the 1:25 mark of the second round. Sutherland improved to 5-1 in his professional MMA career.
