The Professional Fighters League Challenger Series continued tonight at Universal Studios where the Featherweights presented an action packed night of fights with Boston Salmon earning a PFL contract. Judges Randy Couture, Vitor Belfort, and Nick Mangold were in agreement with the fan vote. In the end, Salmon became the fifth PFL Challenger Series fighter to earn his place in the league, joining Week 3 Women’s Lightweight fighter Martina Jindrova, Week 2 Welterweight fighters Jarrah Al-Silawi and Chris Mixan, as well as Week 1 Light Heavyweight winner Bruce Souto.

“Boom Boom” Salmon stopped Do Gyeom Lee at the end of the second round. The hard-charging Salmon forced Lee’s corner to end the contest and give Salmon his fifth consecutive knockout and improve to 8-3-0.

In further action, Reinaldo Ekson defeated Mike Barnett via unanimous decision. Ekson, a veteran fighter, and former EFC Featherweight Champion proved to be too much for Barnett. After tonight’s win Ekson’s record stands at 18-5-0 while riding a four fight win streak.

Edwin Cooper Jr. defeated Troy Lamson by unanimous decision. In a fight that saw back and forth action, the former University of Iowa wrestling standout Cooper Jr. improved his record to 6-1-0 and notched his fourth consecutive victory.

“Tonight’s Professional Fighters League Challenger Series card saw thrilling and fast paced Featherweight action,” said Peter Murray, PFL CEO. “An MMA athlete's life can change forever with a PFL contract and these amazing individuals put everything they have on the line week in and week out for a chance at PFL glory. Boston, welcome to the PFL.”

“The PFL Challenger Series showcases the dedication and commitment of these amazing athletes,” said Ray Sefo, President of Fighter Operations. “The performances tonight demonstrated the will to win a PFL contract. Congratulations to Boston “Boom Boom” Salmon, we look forward to watching you compete in the Regular Season.”

Opening the Featherweight card on fuboTV, Brahyan Zurcher defeated Scottie Stockman by unanimous decision in a thrilling three-round affair. Zurcher, a product of the world-renowned Xtreme Couture gym, remains undefeated as a professional.
