MAKATI FC sets its eyes on winning the SingaCup 2019 in Singapore this month as the storied youth football team is currently training in Gotemba, Japan.
“The MFC Japan camp puts our local Filipino talent at a very young age in a much higher level of training. This is necessary  to prepare them to compete in higher level tournaments,” said SeLu Lozano, Makati FC chief executive officer.
Among those new recruits from U13 that were given the opportunity to train in Japan and compete in SingaCup are
Koronadal natives Lance Pusoc and Daniel Cagaanan, and  Ron Moequin of Bacolod.
Coming off a successful campaign in last month's Borneo Cup, Makati FC is using this momentum to continue its sound football program.
In the Borneo Cup, Makati FC won the boys U15 gold to go boys U14 and U13 silver medals.
“The continuous development of players is what the club aims for as we try to contribute in the efforts of strengthening the Philippine youth football. At the same time we are able maximise child’s growth and development using football as a school of life,” said Lozano.
The team left for Japan over the weekend to train with the Japan Football Association (JFA) coaches.
Aside from the SingaCup slated on Nov. 3-7, Makati FC is also preparing for Bangkok 7s set on Nov. 29-Dec. 2 in Thailand.PR
