THE UAAP Season 87 men's football second round begins Sunday with a three-match fixture at the UP Football Stadium.

Far Eastern University, which finished second behind Ateneo in the league table, plays Adamson University at 7 p.m.

Defending champion University of the Philippines plays dangerous University of the East at 4:30 p.m., right after the curtain raiser between University of Santo Tomas and De La Salle at 2 p.m.

The Blue Eagles, who drew an opening second round bye, will go up against the Falcons at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Ateneo, which is eyeing its first championship since Jarvey Gayoso led the Katipunan-based side in winning it all in 2019, has a maximum of 18 points.

The Tamaraws and the Fighting Maroons are actually level at 10 points, but the coach Roman Oliver's squad is ahead on goal difference. 

Meanwhile, the fourth-running Golden Booters are two clear of their closest pursuers the Green Booters and the Red Warriors in the race for the last Final Four slot.

The playoff for the No. 4 slot, if necessary, is on Dec. 5.

The knockout Final Four is on Dec. 8, while the one-off Final is scheduled on Dec. 15 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
