THE Philippine national men’s football team, undefeated to date in group play in the final round of the qualifiers for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, looks to stay unblemished when it plays Yemen today at the Pana-ad Park and Football Stadium in Bacolod City.

Boasting of a 2-0 record and six points in Group F, the Philippine Azkals enter their home turf looking to create further distance from the rest of the chasing pack in their group and position themselves better to advance to the main draw of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup that will take place in the United Arab Emirates.

LOCAL side Ceres-Negros FC solidified its standing as the best football club in Southeast Asia today after winning the Asian Football Confederation Cup ASEAN Zonal Final over Singapore’s Home United FC on Wednesday night at the Panaad Park and Football Stadium in Bacolod City.

FC MERALCO Manila got the better of rival Kaya FC Makati on Saturday, claiming a 2-1 win in their “Capital Clasico” at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium and thrusting itself back to solo leadership in the Philippines Football League.

Two goals from Tahj Minniecon proved to be the difference for Meralco, which began a new era in its football after Phil and James Younghusband’s recent transfer to Davao, as it made its way back to the top of the standings in the PFL with 30 points on the strength of nine wins, three draws and two losses in 14 games to date.
