Top Rank stunned a lot of boxing fans earlier on Tuesday in making the winning bid for the purse bid for the IBF light heavyweight eliminator fight between unbeaten 2-time Russian Olympian Artur Beterbiev (11-0, 11 KOs) and Germany’s Enrico Koelling. Top Rank will now be the promoters for the fight, according to Dan Rafael.

I decided to write this quick write up as I’m reading BN24 comments regarding predictions for Mikey Garcia vs Adriene Broner. I’ll be honest, I’m a bit confused? Many fans are picking Broner to win, I get it, it sounds like some fans just want Broner to win and that’s okay. However I don’t understand the reasoning, It’s as if we don’t have the same understanding as to who Mikey Garcia is and what he is capable of.

We’re going to see a very busy Adrien “The Problem” Broner this Saturday night when he fights Mikey Garcia at 140 pounds on Showtime at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. This is a fight that Broner says he’s going to let his hands go and show the world see what a good fighter he is.

Broner (33-2, 24 KOs) has had no problems letting his hands go during his recent fights. That’s not been the problem. Broner’s problem is he’s getting hit too much, and he’s not shown the hand speed and power needed to dispatch his opposition at 147.

Gennady “GGG” Golovkin’s size, toughness, power and physicality will prove to be too much for challenger Saul “Canelo” Alvarez towards the end of their fight when he meets the middleweight champion on September 16, according to trainer Abel Sanchez. Sanchez sees GGG wearing Canelo down with his physical style and getting him out of there.

Ricky Hatton is high on Saul “Canelo” Alvarez right now and leaning in his direction to do the job on middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin on September 16. Hatton, a former two division world champion, says he keeps changing his mind about the Canelo-GGG fight.

Hatton states that he originally thought Triple G would be the one that would win that fight over Canelo (49-1-1, 34 KOs). But after seeing the problems Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) had in his recent fight against Daniel Jacobs on March 18, he’s looking at Canelo as the guy that just might do the job.

Thanks to some clever match-making, Luke Campbell (17-1, 14 KOs) is now on the verge of getting a title shot against WBA World lightweight champion Jorge Linares (42-3, 27 KOs). The World Boxing Association has ordered the 31-year-old Linares to defend his title against the #1 Campbell. The two fighters have 30 days to negotiate a deal before it goes to a purse bid.
