"Volcano" Alcano to compete in P1 Million Valentines 10-ball Open Championship

MANILA---Former double world champion Ronato "Ronnie" Alcano will showcase his talent in the money-rich Manny Pacquiao Valentines 10-ball Open Championship on February 3 to 14, 2020 at SM City in Bacolod City.

The cue artist from Los Banos, Laguna captivated the billiard circuit after winning both the 2006 WPA World Nine-ball Championship and the 2007 WPA Eight-ball Championship.

Aside from Alcano, fondy called Volcano in the pool world, other Leading the list of participants are 2017 World Pool champion Carlo Biado, 2015 Manny Pacquiao (MP) 10-ball champion Jericho Bañares, former All Japan winner Lee Van Corteza, Johann Chua, Jeffrey Ignacio, Isarel "Amay" Rota and Eric "Billiard Cop" Bayhon.

The tournament, presented by the Manny Pacquiao Promotions together with tournament organizer Mary Grace Tambasen and tournament director Michael Feliciano, applying a double knockout format which offers a total pot prize of P1 Million.

"Renowned billiard players will gather in Bacolod City for the big billiards competition in the Visayas." said tournament organizer Mary Grace Tambasen, fondly called Precious or Princess Za in the pool world, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduate from the University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos (UNO-R).

The singles event offers a P150,000 champion’s purse while the runner-up place dangles P75,000. The third and fourth placers will get P30,000 each; fifth to eighth will receive P15,000 apiece and ninth to 16th will bring home P5,000 each.

In the doubles category, the emerging champion in the tourney will get P200,000 while the runner-up will receive P100,000 and the third to fourth placers will settle for P40,000 each. Fifth to Eight placers will bring claim P25,000 each while the ninth to 16th placers will receive P15,000 each.
