DILIMAN College welcomed the entry of JPA Freight Logistics as its partner in the 2017 Millennium Basketball League (MBL) Open basketball championship and other major collegiate leagues.
Diliman College president and former Sen. Nikki Coseteng and head coach Rensy Bajar underscored the importance of the support of JPA, headed by businessman-sportsman Jerry Alday.
“We welcome this support of JPA, thru its president Mr. Alday, to help make Diliman fulfill its sports program,” said Bajar during a meeting with Alday recently.
‘With the support of Alday and other friends, the Quezon City-based Blue Dragons are confident we can make a big difference in the sporting arena,” added Bajar, who also steered Diliman College-Gerry’s Grill to the MBL Open title over AMA University-Wang’s Ballclub in 2015.
In the MBL, the Blue Dragons are also being supported by Gerry’s Grill thru sports patron Jerome Ngo, and MBR Sports.
Led by Senegal import Alex Diakhite, the Blue Dragons opened their campaign for a second MBL title with a smashing 72-56 win over NCAA member Emilio Aguinaldo College last Saturday.
The 6-6 Diakhite was an unstoppable force inside the shaded area for Diliman, hitting 28 points while leading the Blue Dragons’ defense against the Generals.
Diliman College is also participating in the UCBL pre-season tournament.
