Mike Perry issues apology, promises to ‘be a better role model’ for unborn son

A little over a week after his impressive win over Mickey Gall, Mike Perry got himself in trouble. The 28-year-old welterweight was involved in an altercation with three people at a restaurant in Lubbock, Texas, leading to a misdemeanor charge for Class A assault.

Parts of the incident were caught on video, particularly when Perry was seen punching an old patron outside the restaurant.

The UFC immediately took action, stating Perry won’t be offered a fight until he seeks professional treatment. The official statement also claims that an apology was already made, but Perry recently issued another one, this time for the public to see.

Perry’s is facing another problem after his ex-wife Danielle Nickerson reportedly filed a domestic violence claim at a Florida court in February. The judge denied her request for a restraining order, but last week, Nickerson also released a post on social media, expressing her desire to “be brave and tell the truth.”
