Over 20,000 Runners Set to join the 2024 National MILO Marathon Manila Leg

The much-awaited Manila Leg of the 2024 National MILO Marathon is all set and ready to welcome families, aspiring runners and professional athletes on Sunday, April 28 at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds in Pasay City. This is the fourth leg of the season where over 20,000 participants are expected to conquer the racetracks in full speed with routes covering the streets of Pasay and Manila.

Tension is on for elite runners as emerging and seasoned athletes will vie for the top bid in the 42K centerpiece event. Last year’s female winner Maricar Camacho is seeking to prolong her winning streak as champion of the Manila leg.  Jocelyn Elijiran, Welfred Esporma, and Florendo Lapiz are some of the athletes who will go head-to-head in the prestigious running event. Notable personalities will also take part in the event such as Commissioner Walter Torres of the Philippine Sports Commission, MILO® ambassador Japoy Lizardo, Olympian and multisport icon Jenny Guererro, and former MILO® Marathon champions Eduardo “Vertek” Buenavista, Roy Vince, Christine Hallasgo, and Allan Ballester.

Aside from the race, exciting side activities will also await participants. Squads of cheer-dancing teams will put out an all-out performance in a competition that will be held on the main stage of the activity area. Additionally, kids and adults alike can enjoy different sports zones and concessionaires where they can fully enjoy their MILO® Marathon experience.

The gun start of the 42K category will fire early at 1:00 AM with a six-hour cut-off time. 21K will start at 3:00 AM, 10K at 4:30 AM, 3K at 5:00 AM, 5K at 5:30 AM, and 1K at 5:45 AM. The race starts and ends at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay City.

After the Manila Leg, the race will set foot in Puerto Princesa (May 12), Legazpi (June 2), Cavite-Vermosa (September 22), Tagbilaran (September 29), Roxas (October 6), Iloilo (October 20), Bacolod (October 27), General Santos (November 10), Davao (November 17) and Tarlac (November 24). The National Finals will be held on December 1 in Cagayan de Oro.
