Looks like all that piano practice (Gosling trained four hours a day for three months for La La Land, which he's called "the most fulfilling") proved doubly useful in the end. Song to Song co-stars Rooney Mara as an aspiring musician...
As well as Michael Fassbender and Natalie Portman. Here is the film's official description: "In this modern love story set against the Austin, Texas, music scene, two entangled couples -- struggling songwriters Faye (Mara) and BV (Gosling), and music mogul Cook (Fassbender) and the waitress whom he ensnares (Portman) -- chase success through a rock 'n' roll landscape of seduction and betrayal."
If this photo -- which shows Fassbender's Cook in a snapshot of that rock 'n' roll landscape -- is any indication, we cannot wait to see just how entangled they become.
Song to Song also features music from the likes of Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Florence + the Machine, Diplo and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. It will, appropriately, premiere as the opening night film at SXSW in Austin.
Following the March 10 premiere at SXSW, Song to Song will open in L.A. and NYC on March 17.
