Country’s chess wizard Candidate Master (CM) Al-Basher "Basty" Buto is expressed readiness and confidence that he will be having a better results in the upcoming National Chess Federation of the Philippines Grandfinals Boys 10-under division online chess tournament on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1pm at Tornelo platform.
The 10 year old Buto, a grade five pupil of Faith Christian School in Cainta, Rizal Province tallied eight points out of the possible nine to topped the boys under 10 category last Saturday.
“I have to train hard for this event, give my best, and give a good show,” said Buto, playing under the banner of American chess coach Dave Fenton.
The grand finals champion will be crowned as the country representative for this coming 2020 World online Chess Cadet & Youth Championship according to NCFP executive director Atty. Cliburn Anthony Orbe.
Buto who is also set to compete in the Grandmaster and Atty. Rosendo Carreon Balinas Chess Championship to be held on November 22, 2020 at lichess.org, in the event organized by Bayanihan Chess Club and backed up by US based Dr. Joe Balinas , Engr. Antonio Balinas, Mr. Recca Carcueva of Philippine E-9 Chess Club, Mr. Wagish Kumar Rai of Frontier Wheels and Mr. Glenn Hullana Garcia of Brainy Chess Academy.
