International Master Paulo Bersamina settled for a draw with 13-time Philippine Open champion Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. after 57 moves of Ruy Lopez Opening using the black pieces to remain on top after eleven rounds of the 2019 GM Rosendo Balinas Memorial Cup chess championship at the Activity Hall, Second Floor Alphaland Makati Place in Malugay Street, Makati City on Saturday.

Bersamina has 8.5 points while Antonio, our country's bet in this year's 2019 Bucharest, Romania World Seniors Chess Championship, notch 8.0 points in this Single Round-Robin Standard time control tournament jointly organized by National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) director Atty. Cliburn Anthony Orbe and Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) president Dr. Jenny Mayor and backed up by engineer Antonio "Tony" Carreon Balinas, US based Joe Balinas and Singapore based Nur Rose Balinas in close cooperation with Alphaland Corporation.

Also with 8.0 points is Grandmaster Darwin Laylo who held into a fighting draw against Rolly Parondo Jr. after 54 moves of London System Opening.

Sherwin Tiu defeated National Master Carlo Magno Rosaupan after 38 moves of Kings Indian defense to climb at solo fourth with 7.0 points.

International Master Daniel Quizon trounced Kevin Mirano after 28 moves of French defense to score 6.5 points for fifth place, half-point-ahead with Grandmaster John Paul Gomez who tote 6.0 points.

In other matches saw, International Master Chris Ramayrat halving the point with International Master Ricardo De Guzman after 31 moves of Petroff defense, Alfredo Rapanot walloped International Master Angelo Young after 44 moves of Pirc Modern defense, National Master Julius Sinangote settled a truce with Michael Concio Jr. after 37 moves of Veresov Opening.-Marlon Bernardino-
