MANILA---Naitulak ni International Master Daniel Maravilla Quizon ang ika-5 sunod na panalo sa 2021 Philippine National Chess Championship (Barkadahan Para sa Bansa FIDE-rated over-the-board Chess Championships Sabado na ginanap sa Solea Hotel and Resort sa Mactan, Cebu.
Tangan ang white pieces ay giniba ni Quizon si Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. sa fifth round tungo sa total 5 points para manatili sa ituktok ng liderato sa 12-player-field, single-round tournament na inorganisa ng National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).
Nakipaghatian naman ng puntos si International Master Ricardo de Guzman kontra kay International Master Jan Emmanuel Garcia tungo sa no.2 spot na may 4 points.
Sa panig ni Garcia ay nagkamada ng total 3 points, gaya ng iskor na naitala nina International Master Paulo Bersamina at International Master Ronald Dableo.
Tabla si Bersamina kay International Master Joel Pimentel habang pinasuko ni Dableo si Allan Pason.
