MANILA---Tatangkain ng General Trias City youth chessers ang chess supremacy sa paglahok sa 1st Mactan Open: Barkadahan Para sa Bansa Championship over the board (face to face) chess tournament na iinog sa Disyembre 9 hanggang 15 sa Solea Mactan Resort, Cordova, Mactan Islands, Cebu.
Inaasahang ang torneong ito na lalahukan ng country’s best woodpushers na magtatangka sa P50,000 champion’s purse ayon kay Chess Movement chairman (CPA-Phd) Dr. Ariel B. Potot.
Lahat nakatutok kina Bonjoure Fille Suyamin, 12 yrs. old na Grade Six Pupil ng Del Rosario Christian Institute sa General Trias City at Janmyl Tisado, 16 yrs.old na Grade Eleven o Senior High School sa Adamson Univeristy , Manila.
Makakasama nina Suyamin at Tisado ay sina Geraldine Mae Camarines ng Governor Ferrer National High School, Jeanne Marie Arcinue ng Santiago Elementary School, Raymundo Bonoan III ng Tropical Village Elementary School at John Martin Firmalino ng Santiago National High School.
"We hope to do well in this prestigious event," sabi ni playing Coach Ederwin Estavillo na siyang presidente ng General Trias City Chess Club under ng guidance nina Cong. Jon-Jon Ferrer at Mayor Ony Ferrer.
