MANILA, Philippines---Archer Dean Ramos is set to compete in the Mobile Chess Club Philippines which begins on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in an online tournament through Chess.com Platform.
Ramos, who just recently turned 6 years old last July and is residing in Cambodia but he is representing his hometown, Arayat Pampanga will be pitted against Zeus Lester Manaois, 5 years old from Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
According to Mabalacat City College Head Chess Coach Mr. Jose Camaya, who is also the coach of Ramos, the organizing committee will adopt the Meltwater format. It will be a race to 2.5 points (Best of four games), Draws will be counted, 10 plus 10 time control. In case of a tie score at the end of the regulation (2-2 score), there will be a tie-break, 2 blitz game (5+3 time control). In case of another tie score, players will enter into the armageddon games.
“I’m excited to play Zeus Lester . I’m ready for the challenge,” said Ramos.
Manaois is fresh from winning "The Cutest Showdown at Mobile Chess Club Philippines" last September 25, 2021 against Carl Zion Galvez, 5 years old from Hagonoy, Bulacan.
