Manila, Philippines---The 2020 Cabuyao City National Executive Chess Championship (Online Chess Tournament) is slated on December 26 and 27, 2020, 2pm at lichess.org.
The 2-day event is sponsored by Cabuyao City, Laguna mayor Atty. Rommel "Mel" A. Gecolea and supported by engr. Jonathan Mamaril of Oregon, USA, engr. Richard Sison of Ontario, Canada, Beau Essence Health and Beauty Inc., Greenshield Alcohol and Jolly Smile Dental Clinic is feature three event format, Blitz, Chess 960 or Fischer Random and Rapid.
"It is a nine round Swiss system, three event format, Blitz, Chess 960 or Fischer Random and Rapid. Zoom is required during play," said Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) president Dr. Alfredo "Fred" Paez.
The champion in the Blitz, Chess 960 or Fischer Random and Rapid will receive P5,000, P3,000 and P3,000, respectively while P10,000 awaits the overall winner.
"Open to all qualified PECA members who are in good standings with NCFP and with standard ratings of 2200 and below," added Dr. Paez, who is also Assistant Executive Director for Southern Luzon of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
