Eddie Hearn wants to put together a two-fight deal between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua right now before the two fight their respective next opponents in 2020. Hearn is hoping to put together a 2-fight deal with IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Joshua and WBC champion Fury battling in December and then June of 2021.Eddie dreaming of Joshua vs. Fury trilogy

Hearn believes that Joshua and Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) could end up fighting each other three times, which means that he’s not taking Tyson seriously about his retirement talk. He’s confident enough that both fighters will win their preliminary fights for him to put together a deal now for them to fight in December.Earlier on Monday, Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev was announced for June 20 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in London, UK. Joshua has to win that fight for him to advance to a unification match against Fury in December.

Fury will be fighting a trilogy match against former WBC champion Deontay Wilder on July 18 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. That date and venue still isn’t official, but it’s likely the that will stick. Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel revealed to ESPN on Monday that they’ve exercised the rematch clause to face Fury.

Hearn assuming Fury beats Wilder againWilder’s poor showing against Fury on February 22 has led Hearn to believe that he has little chance of winning their third fight in July. Hearn views that fight as a slam dunk victory for Fury. If Hearn is wrong, then he’ll need to scramble and attempt to put together a deal with Wilder, which may prove difficult.

It was assumed by many that Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) would trigger the rematch clause in his contract because his career could take a hard hit if he walked away from the fight without trying to avenge it immediately. Fury knocked Wilder out in the 7th round on February 22 in their rematch.

“Our intention and conversations are ongoing, is to finalize the Fury vs Joshua fight for December of this year,” said Hearn to Sky Sports News. “There’s no reason not to get that contracted now, subject to both guys winning in the summer.”It works out well for Hearn that Joshua is fighting Pulev in June and Fury facing Wilder a month later in July. That makes it easy to schedule them to fight in December, as long both get through their next fights injury-free.

Is it possible for Joshua and Fury to fight three times?

It might be a little too ambitious on Hearn’s part to hope for a trilogy between Joshua and Fury. It’s possible, of course, but it may not work out if Fury is serious about retiring and/or if the first two fights are blowout victories for one of the two fighters.Hearn wants the Joshua vs. Fury fight to take place in the UK. He thinks Joshua and Fury will both want it to take place in the UK, but that may prove difficult to do if a foreign country like Saudi offers a huge amount of money to stage the fight in their country.

Hearn wants at least one of the two fights between Joshua and Fury to take place in the UK. He’s really pleased that a unification fight between two British heavyweights is on the verge of happening this year. He’s wanted to match Joshua against Fury for a long time, and now it’s an ideal situation. Both guys being world champions, and considered #1 and #2.
