Pacquiao Apologizes for Elorde awards 'Snub'

Considered one of the best Filipino boxers of all-time, Fighting senator Manny Pacquiao proves that he is also a true gentleman. Pacquiao has apologized for his non-appearance at the 17th Gabriel “Flash” Elorde Boxing Awards Banquet of Champions is held last Saturday at Manila Hotel’s Tent City.

International Boxing Federation (IBF) super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas, World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight titleholder Marlon Tapales and ex-IBF flyweight champion Johnriel Casimero will receive the Boxer of the Year plums and Trainer of the Year Jhun Agrabio.

Jhun Agrabio is honored as trainer of the year alongside Elorde siblings Johnny Elorde, Bebot Elorde, Cucuy Elorde and Rita Elorde.

The event coincides with the 82nd birth anniversary of Elorde, undisputed world junior lightweight champion from 1960-67.
