Undefeated Filipino light flyweight warrior Jayson "Striker" Vayson (9-0-1, 5 KO's), was successful in weighing-in at 113 lbs., during today's 14-day weight-check ahead of his crucial battle against Indonesian titlist Tibo Monabesa (21-1-2, 8 KO's) for the WBC International 108-pound strap on February 27 in Indonesia's capital, Jakarta.

The Cotabato del Norte-native was only 5 pounds over the limit of the light flyweight division, half month before the final weigh-in in Indonesia on February 26 when the brave Pinoy will be required to make 108 pounds. It seems that Jayson should be ok.
The weight check - as mandated by the WBC rules - was supervised by GAB official Eduardo R. Coronal today, February 11, at GAB's head office in Makati, Metro Manila, with the next pre-fight weight-check scheduled for February 19, a week before the rumble.
So far so good.
Jayson's important WBC 10-rounder is set to unfold as the star attraction at the flashy new nightclub Holywings Gatsu Club V in South Jakarta City.
Can the young Vayson get the solid win in Monabesa’s home country? Can Jayson really strike a thrilling knockout win?
It's not an easy battle at all. But he can. Jayson's fans, veteran coach, Highland Boxing team-mates and loved ones say yes, he can.
Born in the Dakbayan sa Bayugan in Agusan del Sur, Jayson has seriously trained under the guidance of fully-committed Highland Boxing veteran coach Allan Alegria, 57, the former RP national champ who will accompany Jayson to Jakarta.
The rumble is indeed vital for Jayson Vayson's career as his experienced Indonesian opponent is not only the WBC International Champ, but he is also ranked # 3 Light Flyweight by the WBC.
This means that a win over the 31-year-old Indonesian Tibo Monabesa would open doors... would get Jayson high in the world-rankings, even with possibilities for a world title shot.
Not an easy fight, but not an impossible to win even though the Indonesian Monabesa has bested almost every Pinoy boxer that he has faced in his 10-year pro boxing career. Only one got away with a TD draw, although he was also losing as well.
Will Jason stop the winning streak of the tough Monabesa?
Boxing fans in Mindanao again say yes, he could, if Jason could box well, setting up the local fighter with his jab and slick moves, timing good his shots while controlling the fight's pace.
Importanttly, Jayson should not mind the crowd, which, of course, would root for the local boxer. That would be a new experience for Jayson because he has never fought outside of his beloved Motherland.
But he has to be tough and get the right mind-set. On fight night, do not mind the crowds. Instead, focus on landing his own blows as well as defending smart.
Some fans on Facebook comment that Monabesa has tasted a harsh defeat by knockout. Means, Monabesa can be defeated, even by KO, and "The Striker" Jayson has power in his blows, that's why fans call him "Striker."
As mentioned, a victory could put Jayson Vayson with chances of being chosen as next challenger for the new WBC Light Flyweight World Champion Japanese slugger Masamichi Yabuki (13-3, 12 KO's).
The hard-hitting Yabuki, 29, became the WBC world champion after amazing "The Amazing Boy" Kenshiro Teraji (18-1, 10 KO's) in 10 action rounds last September.
Nobody knows what golden doors a win in Indonesia could open. So Jayson must deliver the fight of his life!
Furthermore, for some fans on social media, Jayson really needs to completely rock down, ravage and disassemble Monabesa to claim victory... because a win by points with Indonesian judges, no way.
For me, Jayson is getting into the lion's den, but Jayson is a young warrior made for this; this is his chance to shine, and the more difficult the battle, the more rewarding the win, right hermanos?
Big-heart Jayson Vayson is willing to go to war and to get a solid win for a fantastic boost to his boxing career. His fans and all his team are with him.
The exciting Monabesa vs Vayson for the WBC International Light Flyweight Title is produced by Armin Tan Tagore Promotions in association with Probellum and Holywings, live in Indonesia on NET. Televisi Masa Kini.
Best of luck Jayson Vayson from Philboxing, the Filipino Boxing Portal!
