The undefeated fighter from Tijuana and former Super Welterweight world champion Jaime Munguía entered the final stretch of his training in the high altitude camp in Temoaya so as to reach the top of his physical, boxing and mental preparation for what will be his return home on February 19.

Munguía (38-0, 30 ko's) will face American 🇺🇸 D'Mitrius Ballard (21-0-1, 13 ko's) in an undefeated duel, in which the Mexican will defend his WBO Middle Intercontinental Championship, leading a multi-star card of Zanfer and Golden Boy that will be live in Mexico on TV Azteca 7 and worldwide on DAZN.

Munguía will return home after more than 4 years fighting elsewhere, to face a rival of speed and talent who had an outstanding amateur career and who as a pro has already been national champion of the United States.
🇲🇽 Jaime Munguía comes from beating, last November, Gabriel Rosado, by decision, and in that same function, Ballard defeated Paul Valenzuela Jr.

Munguía has already spent 4 weeks in the mountains of Temoaya, State of Mexico, where he has worked intensely on conditioning and physical strength.
In boxing, he has done sparring sessions emphasizing pressure on the opponent, cutting off the ring of a foe who moves around the ring, and practice throwing effective body shots.

The multidisciplinary team that accompanies Munguía in his camp reports that the Tijuana fighter has shown a great response to workloads, and that his resistance and recovery rates are higher than those in any other preparation.

Trainers also report that weight is not a problem.
Munguía will close his preparation this week, and will travel to Tijuana where he will only do light training and fulfill promotional commitments.
