Zepeda (34-2, 26 KOs), a two-time world title challenger, will defend his WBC Silver super lightweight belt against Vargas, with the winner positioned for a world title opportunity in 2022.
In the 10-round bantamweight co-feature, rising Puerto Rican star Carlos Caraballo (14-0, 14 KOs) will fight Filipino veteran Jonas Sultan (17-5, 11 KOs).
The card begins at 7 p.m. ET (EXCLUSIVELY ON ESPN+) and also includes rising welterweight prospect Jahi Tucker (4-0, 2 KOs), junior welterweight standout Kasir "Mazzi" Goldston (3-0, 1 KO), and a guaranteed eight-round junior featherweight war between former world champion Jonathan Guzman (24-1, 23 KOs) and Carlos Jackson (17-1, 11 KOs).
