PHILIPPINE boxing hero Manny Pacquiao and British fighter Amir Khan confirmed separately on Sunday that they would face each other on April 23 after weeks of conflicting reports.

Pacquiao tweeted: “Negotiations between team Pacquiao and team Khan have come to terms for the April 23 bout as this is what the fans wanted.#PacquiaoKhan”.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya thinks it’s a mistake for 2012 U.S Olympian Errol Spence Jr. (21-0, 18 KOs) to be going to Europe to fight for the IBF welterweight title against Kell Brook. De La Hoya says that Spence’s career isn’t being moved a long like it should be for a fighter with his kind of talent. He says that if Spence was one of his fighters in his Golden Boy stable, he would turn him into a star. He would have Spence fighting on the undercard of the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. card on May 6.

Daniel Jacobs says that he’s going to test IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin without a doubt in their fight on March 18, and that he’s going to give him respect inside the ring.

#2 WBO Hughie Fury (20-0, 10 KOs) has signed the contract for his title fight against WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (22-0, 18 KOs). Hughie’s trainer/father Peter Fury ha confirmed that the contract has been signed for the Parker fight. The deadline for Hughie to sign the contract was at 12 p.m. on Friday, according to WBO president Paco Valcarcel.

If Hughie hadn’t signed the contract for the fight by that time, Parker would have been allowed to take a voluntary defense. Hughie would have missed his chance for the title shot. That wouldn’t have been good for Hughie. He did not look solid in his last fight against Fred Kassi.

Granados’ claim to fame is knocking off the highly touted prospect Amir Imam in what was supposed to be an easy fight for Imam. Instead, Granados ruined all plans and finished Imam in shocking fashion with an 8th round TKO victory.

Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum still hasn’t given up on matching him against Australian fighter Jeff Horn IF the fight against Amir Khan fails to materialize. Arum said that if the deal for Pacquiao to fight Khan in the UAE gets done this weekend, then the fight will take place on April 22.

Alfredo Angulo hints that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) lacks the heart, which is why he’s chosen to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (50-2-1 32 KOs) in his next fight on May 6 instead of middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs). Angulo, who lost to Canelo by a 10th round knockout in March 2014, says the reason why Chavez Jr. getting the fight is because he doesn’t have the same boxing skills as Golovkin, and that he’ll likely struggle to make the 164.5lb catch-weight fight the fight on May 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
