Coming from their successful stint in the recently concluded 2018 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, the BanKo Perlas Spikers are giving their fans more activities to look forward to—kicking it off with a Fans Day on August 3, 2018.

Held in Cubao, Quezon City, the Fans Day paved the way for the PVL third placers to show a different side to their loyal supporters through a series of interactive activities with their fans.

“The team had a really good run in this year’s PVL. We took the conference one step at a time, and being in the semi-finals proved our determination. Throughout our journey, our fans have consistently supported us,” said Coach Ariel Dela Cruz of BanKo Perlas Spikers.

“We want to let our supporters know that it will not be possible to get to where we are now without them rallying behind us. Now that the PVL has ended, we want to reach out to them to thank them for their support and inspire them to push boundaries. We also want to spread the love for volleyball to as many people in the provinces through our volleyball clinics.”

The team’s long-time partner, BPI Direct BanKo (BanKo), shares the same vision of reaching out to the grassroots.

“BanKo chose to partner with the Perlas Spikers, because we share similar goals to support and accelerate the grassroots program—to engage them and help them grow to the next level,” said BanKo President Jerome B. Minglana.

The BanKo Perlas Spikers are also set to conduct a nationwide series of volleyball clinics specifically designed for the children of self-employed micro-entrepreneurs (SEMEs). For its first run on August 18, stall owners, vendors and other SEMEs in Cubao may enroll their kids for an exclusive session with the Perlas Spikers.

As part of the team’s commitment to promote the sport, volleyball clinics in Iloilo, Bacolod Butuan, Surigao, Agusan, Laoag and Vigan are also in the pipeline throughout August and September. They will cap off the off-season with an international tournament in Vin Lonh, Vietnam.
