T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt seemed to have put trash talk on the back-burner in the lead-up to their bantamweight championship rematch at UFC 227.

Compared to their first bout at UFC 217, which saw Dillashaw KO ex-teammate Garbrandt in the second round to win the bantamweight strap, the relationship between both men has been somewhat cordial.

Closing out the televised portion on the UFC 227 prelims, the promotion’s #9 bantamweight Pedro Munhoz hurt the #14 Brett Johns multiple times throughout the fight, and to multiple locations, to secure the unanimous decision victory. Ricky Simon put on a grinding performance tonight, leaning on his takedowns to win the unanimous decision over the previously undefeated Montel Jackson. Before that, Ricardo Ramos earned a hard-fought split decision over Kyung Ho Kang, picking up two scores of 29-28 from the judges. To open up the FS1 prelims, Sheymon Moraes did enough across the first-two rounds to pick up a unanimous decision over Matt Sayles.

The table is set for Conor McGregor’s return to MMA. And the most likely opponent appears to be lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. But, if the fight is going to happen, the UFC has to make sure that the champion is getting a reasonable cut.

Nate Diaz’s declared public earnings from UFC 202 came in at just $2 million dollars. A lot of money for a UFC base salary, but not the kind of figure manager Ali Abdelaziz seems to have in mind when says that his fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov, needs to be pulling in more than Nate if a bout with McGregor is going to come to fruition.
