Bedlam erupted in New York when Alvarez took back his stolen belt from McGregor at the UFC 205 press conference.

Conor McGregor could have been looking at facing another fine -- this time from the New York State Athletic Comission -- for his dangerous antics at the UFC 205 press conference in New York earlier today.

The Irishman arrived casually late to the Madison Square Garden arena and immediately took Eddie Alvarez’ lightweight belt. At the time, Alvarez, who stormed off stage earlier in the day, was waiting backstage for McGregor’s arrival.

After Alvarez returned, he immediately reclaimed his title and handed ‘The Notorious’ his chair. An infuriated McGregor picked up the chair and attempted to launch it back at Alvarez, similar to how he engaged in a bottle-throwing war with Nate Diaz at UFC 202’s pre-fight conference.

UFC president Dana White stopped the action and was almost forced to escort McGregor from the building.

His similar antics with Diaz cost him a $150,000 fine by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, although McGregor has says they’ll struggle to get it in full.

The drama has no doubt ramped up the hype for UFC 205, which features a champion vs champion superfight between Alvarez and McGregor in the main event. The pay-per-view takes place Saturday, Nov. 12, at Madison Square Garden in New York.
