To a normal-working Joe, $150,000 is probably around two -- maybe three -- years worth of salary. For a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter on the low-end of the totem pole, so to speak, that's either a decent payday for one fight or two-to-three fights if you're barely starting out.
For the biggest earner in all of mixed martial arts (MMA), Conor McGregor, that's simply a small withdrawal he has to make to pay a fine, as "Notorious" was dinged exactly that amount by Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for the water bottle throwing contest he got into with Nate Diaz during a UFC 202 press conference earlier this year (see it).
In true McGregor fashion, he took to social media to scoff at the fine while clowning his fellow colleagues, yet again.

For the sake of comparison, the $150,000 amount equals to what Yancy Medeiros, Sean Spencer, Drew Dober, Jason Gonzalez, Michael McBride, and Jessica Eye got paid at UFC 203... combined.
In addition to the $150K fine -- which is five percent of his $3 million purse for his rematch against Nate Diaz -- Conor was given 50 hours of community service. What that entails, remains to be seen.
On an interesting note, Daniel Cormier -- who was a guest on "The MMA Hour" -- revealed that for his part in his scuffle with Jon Jones during a post-fight presser, he was fined $2,500 while "Bones" was handed down a fine of $50,000, which would be 10 percent of Jon's $500,00 show money for UFC 182.
