After a rather silent build up of the upcoming UFC lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, the company announced last week that a pre-fight presser will be held this Thursday, September 20th. However, the catch is that the event will strictly be for media members, unlike past pressers where fans are allowed to attend and even ask questions.

New Yorkers will still be able to catch the event as it happens though. On Monday, the UFC announced that the UFC 229 press conference will be streamed live through a viewing party on the block on Broadway between 45th and 46th streets. MMA fans will be treated to a broadcast via Silvercast’s 330-foot Mega-Zilla, deemed as “the world’s largest TV screen.”

UFC officials did clarify to MMA Fighting that the other media events such as the open work outs, press conference and weigh-ins in Las Vegas will be open to the public.

UFC 229 is slated to take place on October 6th at the T-Mobile Arena. It will be co-headlined by a lightweight fight between Tony Ferguson and former 155-pound champion Anthony Pettis.
