Cortney Casey will look to snap her two-fight skid on short notice at UFC Lincoln.

UFC Fight Night 135 took a hit on Thursday — but it was only brief.

Alexa Grasso is out of her scheduled strawweight bout against Angela Hill due to a knee injury. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani first reported the news, saying Grasso was forced off the card due to “undisclosed reasons.” Grasso later said in an Instagram post she tore her LCL in training and is expecting to recover within “a few weeks.”

It didn’t take long for the UFC to find a replacement opponent for Hill. In Grasso’s place will be Cortney Casey, Helwani also reported on Thursday.

Casey is currently on a two-fight skid with losses to Michelle Waterson and Felice Herrig. Her most recent win was a decision over former WSOF champ Jessica Aguilar at UFC 211 in May 2017. “Cast Iron” has lost three of her last four bouts, and may need a win over Hill to stick around the promotion much longer.

Hill is coming off a decision win over Maryna Moroz at UFC on FOX 28 earlier this year. Prior to that, she fell to Nina Ansaroff in an upset. “Overkill” has alternated wins and losses over her past four contests dating back to early 2017.

UFC Fight Night 135 takes place Aug. 25 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. In the main event, lightweight contenders Justin Gaethje and James Vick square off.
