Jon Jones opens as big favorite over Brock Lesnar for potential fight

It seems unlikely that Jon Jones will be fighting Brock Lesnar any time soon, but there is still a betting line for it.

Brock Lesnar is currently a WWE superstar. Jon Jones is currently suspended due to another USADA violation and might stay that way for a long time. But if UFC president Dana White talks up a potential fight, no matter how farfetched, it usually ends up with a bookmaker placing odds on it. And that’s what has happened here.

Lesnar (5-3, 1 NC, 4-3 UFC) is coming to the end of his current WWE contract and has expressed an interest in returning to the Octagon. He still has his own USADA suspension to deal with, which stems from his UFC 200 No Contest with Mark Hunt where he tested positive for a banned substance. He allegedly has about five months left to serve on that, which would begin after he re-entered the testing pool.

It has been suggested that Lesnar might show up at UFC 226 next month to challenge the winner of the Stipe Miocic vs. Daniel Cormier superfight.

Jones (22-1, 1 NC, 16-1, 1 NC UFC) defeated Daniel Cormier to win back the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 214 last July, but was stripped of the belt and suspended when he tested positive for turinabol. The length of his suspension still has not been decided by USADA, but he could be out for up to four years.
