Strawweights Jessica Aguilar and Jodie Esquibel were supposed to fight at UFC Utica, but have since been moved to UFC Boise.

On the heels of last Friday’s last-minute cancellation, there will be a quick turnaround for the re-booking of UFC strawweights Jessica Aguilar and Jodie Esquibel.

Aguilar announced on her Instagram account that she and Esquibel will now meet at UFC Fight Night: Boise on July 14th. The night’s main card airs live on FS1.

Aguilar was removed from UFC Utica by the New York State Athletic Commission on the day of the fight. While Aguilar initially said it was due to “chapped lips,” the NYSAC claimed that Aguilar had a “potentially contagious medical condition.” Esquibel obviously had to be removed from the event as well, but the expectation was that they would get booked again fairly quickly.

The 36-year-old Aguilar (19-6) is the former WSOF strawweight champion, but she’s only fought twice in her three years under the UFC banner, losing decisions to Claudia Gadelha and Cortney Casey. Esquibel (6-3) is looking for her first UFC win, having lost a decision to Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC Gdansk back in October 2017. She moved up from atomweight in 2016 while in Invicta FC, losing to Alexa Grasso before beating DeAnna Bennett.

UFC Fight Night: Boise is headlined by a heavyweight contest between former UFC champion Junior dos Santos and ex-WSOF champion Blagoy Ivanov.
