Gregor Gillespie submitted Vinc Pichel in the second round of the UFC Utica main event.

The UFC Utica co-main event witnessed Gregor Gillespie dominating Vinc Pichel in the grappling department, ultimately coming up with a second round submission. Gillespie had an awesome opening round, scoring multiple takedowns and forcing Pichel to defend a lot of the time.

The second round saw more of the same, dominant control from Gillespie with ample takedowns. The end came in the second frame when Gillespie locked up an arm triangle from half guard, forcing his opponent to tap out. Gillespie remains undefeated and now sits at a flawless 12-0.

Co-main Event:

Gregor Gillespie def. Vinc Pichel by submission (Arm triangle) at 4:06 of round 2: Lightweight
Gillespie secured a takedown within the first 30 seconds of the match, and quickly moved into side control. Pichel did manage to scramble back to his feet, but Gillespie was right there to take the fight back down to the mat. Rinse and repeat for Gillespie. Pichel gave up full mount, but frantically scrambled until he was back on his feet. Another takedown was realized for Gillespie, and he squeezed on an anaconda choke until the clock ran out.

The fight went right to the floor to start the second stanza, courtesy of Gillespie of course. Pichel struggled to get some separation, and even gave up his back to the accredited wrestler. Pichel did well at defending, but he was still defending and not being offensive. Gillespie took side control, and then moved into half guard where he attacked an arm triangle. It wasn’t very long before the hold was secured and Pichel was tapping out.
