The WWE is looking to capitalize on the hype around Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather by getting the two men on their television programming.

When the boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather finally came to fruition, a lot of fans who don’t like the idea of it compared the whole idea to something that would happen in pro wrestling. So it should come as no surprise that the WWE is looking to get involved in the promotion of the August 26th bout as well.

WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Triple H (real name Paul Levesque) spoke to Sky Sports about the big bout, and of course tried to coax the two men to show up in the WWE to promote both products:

"All sports is entertainment, news is entertainment today, it is just the way of the world. Everything is entertainment, that is what people do with their time. This is no different. I think there is an interest level there. Can a world-class boxer, probably the best ever, can he stand in the ring with an MMA guy? And can that MMA guy bring his striking skills up to the level of somebody like Floyd Mayweather?

"The one thing it will be, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is entertaining. One thing Floyd Mayweather is, he is entertaining. Conor McGregor is entertaining. You say it is sports entertainment and, if they want to really showcase what they can do, I would invite both guys to come to Monday Night Raw!

"There is no bigger platform that they could have to show the world and tell the world, who they are, and why they are the man."

Triple H already has a strong connection with Mayweather, having walked to the ring with him for fights in the past. Mayweather has also appeared on WWE television, memorably taking on The Big Show at WrestleMania 24. The WWE has also been courting McGregor for a long time now, but haven’t been able to come to an agreement.

Conor and Floyd showing up on Raw is highly unlikely - this is just Triple H getting some product placement there - but the two men wouldn’t be so out of place on Monday Night Raw if it did happen.
