Nate Diaz shuts down the idea of a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor.
For whatever reason, Nate Diaz has chosen to remain in the sidelines. The 32-year-old Stockton native last fought at UFC 202 in August 2016, and has since turned down all fight offers, according to UFC president Dana White.
In the past, Diaz has been adamant about being paid and getting “the right deal” before signing on for another fight, but most observers believe he is waiting to face Conor McGregor for a third time. According to McGregor’s manager Audie Attar, Diaz would need to “get Conor excited” in order to land that opportunity.
But apparently, that is not the case, according to Diaz, who once again got his special episode of The MMA Hour on Wednesday.
“For one, I never ever said I was waiting for a third fight with Conor McGregor. I never said that,” Diaz said (via MMA Fighting). “People think what they wanted and said that I wanted another fight with Conor. I already whipped Conor’s f--kin’ ass. He should want a fight with me. I gotta light a fire up under his ass?”
“I don’t want a f--king third fight. F--k Conor. He can f--king fight himself.”
McGregor himself has been absent from fighting since he won the lightweight title against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 last November, making him a simultaneous two-division world champion for a few weeks until his featherweight belt was stripped. Diaz went on to lambast the Irishman’s accomplishment, along with the claim that he is the two-division world champion using his own logic.
“I’m the two-time world champ, because I whipped his f--king ass after he fought Jose Aldo and I whipped his ass right before he fought Eddie Alvarez. And he knocked these guys out and everybody seems to have forgot what happened. It just went away?”
“He’s the f--king bitch,” Diaz continued. “You’re the f--king bitch, Conor. You f--king got your ass whipped and you’re running around like, ‘I’m the two-belt champion, I overcame adversity.’ I’m like when? When you were quitting in that second fight? In the third round, he was making sounds like, ‘ugh, ugh.’”
“He’s like crying you know what I’m saying? When you’re a fighter, you understand. You know when somebody is being a little bitch.”
